If you have seen the movie
The Princess Bride, then you will remember the Cliffs of Insanity, which were filmed at the Cliffs of Moher in Ireland. The outside part of the cave in
Harry Potter and the Half-blood Prince was filmed there too. The cliffs are tall and stretch a long way out into the ocean. From afar, you can see the waves crashing against them so hard that spray actually comes over the top to water the plants! There is a tower on top which you can climb and get a better view. It was extremely windy when we went. I don't know if that's how it always is, but it was so windy for us that you could lean into the wind completely and not fall over. Inside there is an exhibition about sea life and geology.
OH! Katie has a blog now too. She had to do it for her Sociology class and I don't know the name of it. When I find out I'll tell you....

ReplyDeleteI said that I loved Ireland and that I wonder how salty water can be good for plants - such as the spray you mention coming over the top of the cliffs. I guess there are salt-loving plants!
