4/5/11 Bridget

People who know me will know my family and I are living in France right now. It has been a great adventure (yeah right). As Bridget said this is being edited by our lovely english teacher. So although that last part wasn't entirely truthful you still get the point. Before we came here I was under the impression that we were here to learn French, but as we are all still struggling to comprehend the incredibly confusing language spoken by people living in France, Dad has amended that impression and we are now here for a "cultural experience". So my sister Bridget and I will try to give "an impression" of our cultural experience and I hope you will enjoy it as much as we did.
Welcome to the wonderful world of blogging, dear cousins!
ReplyDeleteA couple of points:
* Speaking as a former expatriate-not-by-choice, you may or may not currently be enjoying the experience, but spending time outside the U.S. will widen your perspective and help you understand the world is bigger than your home town, home state, or home country.
* I think the page design is lovely. I would, however, appreciate a higher level of contrast between the text and the background. Either make the background gray darker or make the foreground gray lighter. Or something.
* Are you sure you don't know any other French words? I found that I generally learned the more, um, COLORFUL phrases first. Or was that an editing issue?
* TRY to enjoy yourselves. At a minimum, eat a lot of the fabulous food!
Hello Bridget and Darcy!
ReplyDeleteWe thoroughly enjoyed and appreciated that first post and look forward to continuing to read about your cultural experiences in our mother tongue. Thank you for sharing! All the best to you and your family.
Jon, and family
